1 MILLION views, on a private site?

20 September 28, 2010 by Baba Ali

When I told my friends that Half Our Deen was not going to have public searches, they were concerned if people would use it since all the other Muslim Matrimonial Sites allowed EVERYONE to see who is on their website.  I argued that privacy would be one of the key reasons many people would want to use Half Our Deen vs the other guys and Alhamdulillah, our recent stats speak louder than any words that I can type here.  Alhamdulillah within 10 weeks of launch, Half Our Deen has reached 1,000,000 page views!

Half Our Deen 100% privacy

The only people that should know you’re looking to get married are people who are also looking to get married.  Many years ago, when I had no choice but to use the current Muslim Marriage sites that you see out there today, my online profile was up for everyone and their mama to read.  I was already uncomfortable putting my profile online, but to have it public made me feel even more uneasy.  Imagine how bad it would look if your profile shows up on Google when someone searches for “single Muslim”.  Umm yeah, I pass!  That’s why I was very adamant on making Half Our Deen completely private, so people like you and I can be comfortable with our profile being online.  Just because you like romantic walks on the beach (after marriage of course), doesn’t mean the whole world needs to know. =)

For all those in doubt of people using a private Muslim Matchmaking site like Half Our Deen, well I hope the stat, 1 million page views in 10 weeks, makes you feel more comfortable. Alhamdulillah!

The website lacks any kind of technical support.. No one responds to querries posted in Help section.
I would like to extend my membership for another month.. I did it for 1 month for $9 and would like to go another month by extending. There is no procedure mentioned anywhere and no notifications sent to extend … If any of you know then let me know .
    JazakAllah.

    YAY!! ALF MABROOK BABA ALI!
You are soo popular to begin with, of course people would want to use ur matrimonial site. The concept is still a bit uncomfortable for me as a Muslim but elHumdella I am seeing there are others out there truly looking for marriage and asking questions back and forth is giving me more knowledge of what exactly i want in a marriage. Jazak Allah Khair Baba Ali!!

Salaam Baba Ali! congrats on your sucess! 1 million views on a private site it wonderful alhamduillah. If I can add a suggestion on improving the site, or perhaps someone can inform me on a better way to improve my chances of meeting someone o? . I am a black muslimah ( Nigerian American). Many of the men on the site are of a certain culture or ethnic group and I have not been receiving many responses. While we all want to pretend that its something else, I think many can say that its because of the pressures that some of us have to marry only within our “own” .

I have picutres up. My profile is bubbly and lively. I even mentioned on my profile that Allah wants us to marry for the deen and not because of skin color or culture. I can marry any culture, its not a problem for me. I scanned the pictures of the men and a handful of guys are black.. and almost all of the black men are the ones who messeged me. lol.

What im trying to imply is to try to make this group as diverse as you can … I know that you are doing your best, but honestly as an black muslimah on this site, Ive been largely ‘ignored’….

“Al-Bayhaqi narrated in Shu’ab al-Eemaan from al-Raqaashi: “When a person gets married he has completed half of his religion, so let him fear Allaah with regard to the other half.” Al-Albaani said of these two hadeeths in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1916): “(They are) hasan li ghayrihi.” Allahu Alim
